Yesterday Zoe could start taking long walks again, and in a couple of weeks she can run around, go to the dog park, etc. On the whole she’s starting to act like her old self.
Although according to Tempi, she was acting subdued last night as Kaitlin was cooking dinner.
She lay down in the corner and rested her head on her paws and shared those big brown eyes rather than sitting on Mom’s feet.
Kaitlin was concerned, and since the pork chops she had cooked for dinner were resting on the counter while the rest of the dinner was cooking, she lay down on the floor next to Zoe:
She pet Zoe and said we loved Zoe (not sure who “we” are, but Mom was serious and said it over and over). Zoe really played up her misery, getting lots of good pets and kisses from Mom.
Then suddenly Zoe jumped up, ran to the counter, and scarfed down one of the pork chops before Kaitlin had a chance to get up. Fortunately Kaitlin did manage to rescue the second chop.
Yes, Zoe is doing just fine. And presumably Kaitlin will never fall for that trick again.

ya just can’t trust a wily puppy! wonder if she was lying there just figuring that all out before her first move. LOLOL!
I saw a video once with the kitchen camera… SERIOUSLY… catching the culprit! they just knew their short dog could never reach as high as the counter.
unbelievable. the dog figured out how to move one of the kitchen chairs to the bar and then moved it again! just in the right position. and voila! he got what he was after. I think it was a loaf of fresh baked bread! LOLOL.
and like so many criminals… he was caught right on camera.
we have always taken their intelligence (or what we mistakenly thought as lack of it?) for granted. not any more! 😀 xoxo
