Set Back

set back: the distance of a structure or other feature (such as a well or septic system) from the property line or other feature

The architect phoned this morning and said the county will issue our building permit for the greenhouse as soon as we answer questions about the set back. He said he will take care of it.

The building will be in the middle of a 40-acre plot, so we’re not anticipating any problems.

There are still a few details to be worked out, but Joe can start on the site work any time now. We don’t know what his schedule is.

It sounds like they kind of make a person jump through hoops in order to get a permit. At least you have the architect to take care of that

I looked at the regulations and this information should have been included in the site plan we gave them. The rules are made for building in more populated areas. Hopefully it can be handled over the phone.

  4. They need to put something on those plank lines to prove they did their jobs but it sure seems silly when you’re building in the middle of 40 acres. LOL

It’s understandable because most of the building in the county is in populated areas. I looked up the regulations yesterday and we should have mentioned this in the site plan we gave them. I do love the internet! There is a lot of real data out there if we look for it.
