It Looks a Lot Smaller Now, Doesn’t It?

Yesterday Joe’s crew put some of the insulation on the back wall.

And the installer’s crew put up the frame of the greenhouse.

There are a lot more pictures on Flickr.

It does look a lot smaller now, doesn’t it?

it always does. like when a house is framed. but then after it’s finished it seems large. I’m glad they’re working steadily.

It felt just right for me when I went in it this afternoon. It was a gorgeous day and the view was spectacular because of all the glass and because we were above ground level. I didn’t have my camera with me and didn’t want to stay long and get in the way of the guys working. They didn’t finish until about six, so the sun was already going down then. I don’t know how long the glass will stay that clean!

  2. it looks longer in some of the flickr photos…but yes it doesn’t look so big as the outside structure…but then one notices the ladder and they aren’t just able to reach the top/back by standing…

Wow, they made a lot of progress. It does look smaller now with the framing up

  4. It’s always seemed small to me. But then I used to work in a flower shop that had 3 acres under greenhouse glass. Your probably have some passive solar features they didn’t even dream of back in my time frame experience. Like I don’t understand the need to build it so high off the ground.

    I think it looks wonderful….

What a great project, Jean! I had a greenhouse once, many years ago, and truly loved itβ€”so many things you can grow, that are a challenge in a garden!

    • Jean says:

Yes, there are a lot things we can’t grow up there without a greenhouse. It’s not very large as greenhouses go, but it’s close to the house and ideal for the geriatric set. πŸ˜€
