No New Pictures

The duck tape didn’t hold the battery in Andy’s twelve-year-old camera steady enough, so it jiggled and the camera asked him to set it from the beginning. He understandably decided not to mess with it.

He said a lot happened yesterday, so I showed him how to use my pocket camera and he plans to take some pictures today. It’s a good little camera, but it’s a bit thicker than his — it fits in his pocket with his glasses but it’s a bit tight — and it’s about a half an ounce heavier. Anyway, he said he will take some pictures with it while we’re waiting for Thursday, when hopefully he can try out a new one.

In the meantime, for those of you who didn’t see my response to Kaitlin’s comment Sunday, here is a before and after comparison of the greenhouse site.

It doesn’t look quite so forlorn now, does it?

  1. I’m so excited for you guys. Can’t wait to see how you set up the planting beds inside.

That will be a while. Andy’s more interested right now in getting it finished and seeing how it works thermally. The electrician hasn’t hooked up the fans yet so it’s too warm in there even when it’s in the 50’s outside.

my depth perception isn’t very good. surely those tall dead trees couldn’t fall on it and make damage. I’d think that might be one of the first things Andy took care of if there was a chance for that!
I love how it looks. and so glad it’s done!

  3. Ann Thompson says:

That just looks amazing. Too bad about the camera

    • Jean says:

He used mine today and that one worked fine. He bought his in 2007, and the little plastic latch broke because it was so old and brittle.

    What a change it is…

  5. Duck tape and bail twine is amazing.
    Coffee is on

  6. addition to Dora, “chewing gum, well chewed, but not too wet”

sad to hear that the famous “duct/k tape” didn’t stand up the process…

but on the other hand, now the house/shed are not looking at one another quite as much…

    • …and wondering “what are they gonna do with all this spare space between us…”

    • Jean says:

β€œchewing gum, well chewed, but not too wet” I hadn’t heard that one before. Thanks.

There’s not that much distance between the greenhouse and the shed, so the shed doesn’t look so lonely now. .

    • oh in NZ we have lots of fix-its…of course suggesting our most famous object “the #8 wire” would be overkill for sure…but it would make sure that the whole camera case/outer would stay put for sure…

  7. Audra Adelberger says:

Thanks so much for the two versions. That’s one gorgeous greenhouse!

    • Jean says:

We’ll have to see how it looks when the walls are painted a dark brown — that will hopefully match the greenhouse frame. So far we love it. πŸ™‚

  8. Pam says:

Cameras….LOVE THEM. I actually own two of those pocket type point and shoot cameras that I had before I got a cell with a camera. Then I have three larger Nikons along with a film camera…..yep, I am not camera poor! Wow…big difference on the green house area. But where is the house?

  9. Catalyst says:

Wow! I guess I hadn’t been here for a few days and look at that! Amazing.
