Working on the Details

Yesterday they continued working on the back and side walls and put sheeting on the roof to protect it from the rain.

(There are more pictures on Flickr.)

They’re moving right along.

  1. looks more and more fabulous…

I know there is still lots to do…but what plants? is Andy and of course yourself considering?

    • Jean says:

It’s way too early to think of that. Andy doesn’t even know if it will work thermally. We can’t even get the wall painted until the electrician gets the electricity connected and the fans hooked up. Andy says it was 115° F in there today. 😀

It looks fantastic. So do you have a plan worked out for what will be going inside?

    • Jean says:

Oops! I’m way behind in answering here. Andy will try some cold weather crops this year when the guys are finished. He wants to see how long the season is extended.

  3. Is the wall is designed to store heat build up to release later? I’d forgotten about fans inside greenhouses. It gets hot inside on sunny days.

    • Jean says:

Yes, that’s the purpose of the heavy wall. He bought an extension cord and tried one of the fans on low today, and it got the inside down to a reasonable temperature. Once the electrician gets things hooked up the thermostat is supposed to handle things, I think.

it is FINALLY a cool morning here that promises to remain all day. HEAVEN!
the thought of 115 degrees anywhere just repels me!
but when that’s all worked out and completed it will be lovely.
and just think what an adventure it’s been to build it! 😀
