Comparisons

Andy did take pictures with both the Canon and Kodak yesterday. The big difference is the focal length of the Kodak is longer (5.1 mm vs 4.3 mm for the Canon). So the Kodak pictures are zoomed in a bit.

Do you prefer one set of pictures over the other?

They both work for me. The clarity is good in each. You just get closer or further away depending on what you want included in your picture.

Also both cameras have zooms, but it could be tricky to get the magnification the same for both sets of images. I think the Canon has slightly sharper images, but Andy thinks the Kodak does, because the images are slightly magnified, I think. He doesn’t care which he uses. They both are easy.

  2. the Canon appears to work the best from my screen…but not to a greater degree. I would pick the one with the easiest handling operational consideration…

They’re both easy, and I agree about the Canon. We’ll keep trying them both to see if they last, but I’m guessing we’ll use the Kodak as a backup.

  3. They both take great photos but the Canon has more intense color which I prefer but I’m sure that can vary from person to person.

Love the siding color. They sure are making great progress!

    • Jean says:

I agree with you about the color. We’ll take a lot more, but I’m guessing we’ll use the Canon for the regular camera, the Kodak for the spare.

    • Jean says:

I’m afraid we’re going to paint the siding — a dark brown that hopefully goes with the roof and the greenhouse frame.

I think they both take great photos…

in seeing these pics (which both seem fine to me) I can’t help but think that’s a very small entry to the greenhouse. I would have felt safer with a deeper and longer space. especially trying to open the door. just thinking of opening it with trays of little plants or bags of whatever… it just looks very small! and with stairs to boot!

    • Jean says:

We’ll have a railing for the stairs. I’ll let you know how hard it is to use the door when Andy starts bringing things in.

  6. Lovely how every you look at it.

  7. Ann Thompson says:

From what I see, they are pretty close with the only exception being that the kodak seems to have some washed out color in the sky where the canon doesn’t. That in mind I would go with the canon.

    • Jean says:

I agree, but I will try another setting for the Kodak, one that’s supposed to be better for scenery. If they both keep working we’re happy with them.
