Dogs and Rocking Chairs

Tempi isn’t allowed on the couch at Torben’s mother’s place (well, except on the pink blanket), and she’s not allowed on the couch up on the land, but no one said anything when she sat on Andy’s rocking chair.

Go figure.

Have you ever known a dog who likes to sit on rocking chairs?

Yes, I wonder what is the attraction of sitting on a rocking chair. Maybe she’s just fascinated by the way it moves, unlike ordinary chairs?

    • Jean says:

She likes sitting in chairs or on couches, and up on the land this is the only chair she has access to in the living room. So she gets on and carefully balances herself so it doesn’t rock.

I don’t think any dog we have ever had or known woul have liked sitting in a regular rocker like that.

  4. Ann Thompson says:

I’ve never had a dog who would get up in a rocking chair. I think they were always scared by the movement.

  5. What a fun picture! I’ve never had a dog that liked to sit in a chair like that — But a couple of days ago, Todd was on the ironing board…. šŸ™‚

Our last dog was so funny. Roger did not want her on the bed. She never even tried to get on the bed when he was here. But he left early for work, say 6:00…as soon as he closed the door as he left, she would come stand beside the bed and look at me. All I did was point at the bed, and up she hopped and stretched out and slept!

She was also the one that had real expressive eyebrows…she wiggled them independently. One time my daughter was sitting over in the other recliner, and we have a table between them. She was eatinng cookies and milk as we watched TV.

Daughter said, ‘Mom, did she just smell my cookies?” I told her I didn’t know, I wasn’t paying attention…and told her to pretend to watch TV but watch Shelby instead. So we just sat there trying to watch her…she would look first at one of us, then at the other…then she just reached over and got one and ate it. We about died laughing…she just never did anything like that.

    Adorable!
And no, none of my dogs want to get on my rocking chair
    unless Iā€™m sitting in it.
    Then they all do!
