Goodbye Barber?

Andy’s barbershop opens again tomorrow. People are supposed to wear masks, come in and pick up one of the sanitized pens, write their name and phone number on the list, then leave until they are called. There is a bench outside if they don’t have a car to sit in.

It sounds as if it would be safe, but a couple of weeks ago I bought a hair groomer and gave Andy a haircut.

I gave Andy a quick trim last night, and I really like the way it looks. He says if I don’t mind doing it, it’s a lot quicker and easier for him than going to the barber.

So goodbye barber? For now at least?

Roger had been losing his hair for a long time…actually all through our marriage. But I had been cutting his hair for quite a long while before his stroke, and now I just take off all the guards and shave his head.

  2. I’m not brave enough to cut anyone’s hair – Just the dogs, they don’t complain if it’s not even, especially if there is a treat involved!

Good for you! I’ve been cutting hubby’s hair ever since we got married…. 44 years ago. I cut our son’s hair too, until he got married and now his wife does it. *lol* I’d like to have a quarter for every haircut I’ve given. I’m sure Andy will consider you his new barber. 🙂 Love, Andrea xoxo

It’s funny, his hesitation is he doesn’t like to bother people, but I assured him it’s no problem. It doesn’t take any time at all. ♥♥♥♥

I don’t know that I could cut anyones hair so that it would look presentable but if I could I certainly would. As long as Andy is happy with the way it looks why not.

Okay, I haven’t resorted to cutting hubby’s hair, even though I couldn’t stand the way it looks. But I did cut my own hair, and didn’t give myself such a bad job. Actually I’m quite happy about it, and I’m $40 richer. Anyway, this will be all over someday, and we will laugh about all of these mishaps!

I’ve been cutting my own hair for years now, since my favorite hairdresser retired. Mostly I liked how it looked, but now it’s getting so thin it’s ridiculous. So I’m clipping it short and wearing a hat or hair covering when I go out. It doesn’t bother Andy, and I think it’s funny. It’s so easy to wash and dry now, and it’s very cool in summer.

Life is one adjustment after another. 😀

I don’t have any confidence I could trim my hair successfully, and neither has Jenny. So for me it’s got to be waiting for the hairdresser to re-open. As yet there’s no sign of any being back in business.

  7. apparently there was a guy with a flourishing online business here, who when lockdown came, he wasn’t having much luck, so he ditched his business product around and switched to these groomers and now business booming. I think a lot of people will be avoiding barbers for quite some time….
