Smart Dogs

My old all-in-one printer/scanner/copier gave up the ghost last night. So I’ve been channeling Tempi’s composure and patience while I read about how to avoid the pitfalls of the “new and improved” models. I just ordered one…it’s supposed to be here between October 9 and October 10. In the meantime I can still print and scan remotely from the HP8600 in the bedroom.

In the meantime I’m warming my heart with this video of a dog that takes the bus to the dog park all by herself:

What a wonderful community that lets her do it.

(Thanks Ronni Bennett for telling us about the video.)

We have had very good luck with Canon printers. We hope what you ordered works well for you.

That is one smart pup although we do worry about her being off leash so much.

She seems to know what she’s doing, and the people are friendly and love her. Clearly not all dogs would do so well.

We had good luck with our Canon printers, but Amazon doesn’t seem to sell them. except via third parties, and if we get a lemon we like to print out a label and send it back.

  3. now that’s a great dog-tail (tale)

and I’m pretty sure the Monk has worked out the best printer deal…my art supplies came today…more on them later this week

I’m not sure it’s the “best” deal… how soon I would get it was an important criterion. I am happy the decision is made and off my mind.

This dog is amazing! I have never seen anything like it! I hope you will find it easy to work your new printer! You will have to let us know. We have gone through many printers.

Aww, loved the video. What a sweet and smart dog.

Sorry about the two identical videos on my blog this morning. I realized my mistake when I went to make sure it published and fixed it.

There are dogs in Moscow that take the metro into town I think to beg during the day – then take it back home later in the day. There may be videos of this.

  8. i am sitting here all teared up. what a wondeful and oh so smart dog.. wow what a story, thanks so much for showing it.
I can tell you i have had maybe 8 plus printers since 1997 when I got my first computer and every single time i got a new one, I lost my religion while installing it. Good luck with what you ordered. i don’t think you can get a bad one these days.. and they are necessary for our life styles now.

This is priceless! So glad you shared it!

  10. Oh no, something broke! And you have to get a new one. And that can be a major ‘pain.’ Good luck!

Lovely black lab. Love them. One of our son’s family have had 3 of them.

    ?????

We bought this one in 2007 and Canon hasn’t upgraded the software to keep pace with the changes in the Mac operating systems. At first we couldn’t scan, but I found an app that let me do it… then it could no longer print, so I’ve been remotely using the printer in the other room. But once it can’t even be used as a copier it was time to get a new one. The new printer may be easier to use once it’s set up.

I watched it last night and could have sworn I commented!
I could never let her ride alone though. she’s a sweetheart. xo

Andy goes up to the land all by himself every day, and he even climbs on the roof when no one is there, so I figure some things are worth the risk.
