Andy brought these squash home yesterday…a couple of them were too hard to cut with a knife. The ones I could cut weren’t as soft as regular zucchini, but I’m cooking them anyway.
Life is full of surprises. Have you ever seen squash like this?

here that’s a zucchini … and I’m pretty sure one year when I was growing them, I had a lot of different shapes!
Except the skin is extremely tough and it cooks like a winter, not summer, squash. Weird!
No, I haven’t seen anything like these. But brownies made from zucchini squash sounds mighty good right now!
I’ve never had any, but they do sound good!
The one on the far left looks like a hot pepper because of it’s shape. I’ve seen all different shapes with the ones that come into the store.
The interesting thing about these is they were more like winter squash than summer squash. The skins were inedible and hard to cut.
I’m not a big squash eater! so nope. have never seen those.
the only squash I really like is the small summer squash.
I love those sliced and steamed and served with a little butter. YUM.
zucchini not so much!
These look like zucchini, but they cook like winter squash.
no, have never seen them look like this… they don’t look like zuchinni. i am wondering if they taste like it.. yellow squash is my favorite, and zuchinni is a close 2nd. i like the mixed together
These cook like winter squash. Strange!
No, have never seen any quite like these!
We haven’t either! These cook like winter squash.
No, I’ve not … how curious! Did you cook them in the InstantPot? I’m interested in knowing how they taste.
I microwaved them like winter squash and they taste all right, very mild flavor.
I don’t know. Our squash are just “squash looking”. ~grin~ Green and yellow ones.
They are delicious, sliced, sauteed with some butter/oil and sliced onion, green pepper, mushrooms, etc.
These cook like winter squash even though they were supposed to be summer squash. We’ll buy our seeds from another company next year. 🙂
