Perseverance

Every clod feels a stir of might,
An instinct within it that reaches and towers,
And, groping blindly above it for light,
Climbs to a soul in grass and flowers;

I love seeing plants that have found their way through cracks. Kindred spirits?

    Mixed emotions, joy and sadness.
    I LOVE seeing a flower that has struggled up through a crack
    And yet it hurts my heart to think how it will most likely be tread upon
    Or worse pulled.

  2. Yes, lovely examples of perseverance…

    But right now, I just feel like curling up and going to sleep. Not much perseverance left. Really sink into Deep Winter Wintering. Hibernate. Rest.

    Not even Spring holds much promise…

  3. I had a moss rose come up in a sidewalk crack THREE summers after I had a bed of them in the yard. That’s perseverance.

    I, too, am intrigued by green sprigs, much less flowers that grow out of the most unexpected places sometimes.

    Proof that where there’s a will there’s a way

    Perseverance is hard to find in myself these days.. and all the chaos in our world is killing my blogger mojo…

      I love blogging so I still do it every day. It feeds my soul. If I were cut off from the internet I would go back to writing in my journal every day, but it wouldn’t be as much fun.

    I am like you and always love seeing plants daring to grow in odd places. For the longest time, there was a building downtown that had a tree growing on its roof. Not by design…just because no one would go up there and do away with it. Of course, the building is now gone.
