OK, so Clorox abandoned us. What to do next? Poke around on the internet, of course.
It turns out Andy can make his own bleach using calcium hypochlorite powder, and we found a good supplier, cleanwaterstore.com. In addition to supplies it has a number of useful articles, and if we wanted personal advice we could schedule a phone call.
We ordered the calcium hypochlorite plus some testing kits last night, and this morning we received an email saying our products were already shipped via FedEx and should be here Monday. We also received a personal message from the founder and president that started with:
Hello Jean,
Thanks again for your order. We are a family business and appreciate your order. We want to welcome you and let know that we are here for one reason…to serve you!
It went on to talk about how quickly they fulfill orders and how we can reach them if we need help.
Again, hurray for the internet, and for good companies that make use of it!

that’s great news all round…
there are a number of raw supply companies, I remember that my niece found a company that raw materials for hair shampoo as her daughter was allergic to even the medical prescription ones. And it was easy to make up a good supply, as often the prescriptions come in tiny little bottles, making it more expensive.
Yes, it’s fun to find these options. 🙂

Andy will wait until it warms up before he makes his bleach…he’s going to do it outside because of the fumes. But we will let you know. It’s a fun project…too good not to share.
