Old Quote Revisited

Yesterday’s quotes reminded me of this one that I posted last July:

Life is like a camera. Just focus on what’s important. Capture the good times. Develop from the negatives and if things don’t turn out – just take another shot.
—Ziad Abdelnour

This past year has had a lot of negatives…have you managed to “develop from” any of them?

    This is a great quote!!!

  2. Rose says:

I agree with Ginny…a great quote. Not sure if I have developed any or not. And I am so tired I cannot think right now.

  3. The OP Pack says:

Ha – that could be my Lightning when he was a baby:)

I have learned that I can find many ways to keep busy when I can’t do the things I would normally be doing, if that makes sense. I think I have also grown in patience. And at the same time, my worry level has escalated:(

    • Jean says:

I’m sorry about the worry level, but learning to have patience and be flexible is always a plus. I hope this year goes well for you.

  4. I’ve developed a “home bound” theme – fortunately I had practice earlier last year when we had our most severe lockdown (covid-wise) – but when those levels started to return to normalcy – somehow I didn’t.

I didn’t get covid but I’ve sure been utilising the medical professionals a bit in the last 4 months on a couple of different issues.

And the practice in that first sentence, certainly has helped…

  5. Great quote and words to live by.

I’ve heard this one (or similar) before and I love it! The last year has been so depressing and frustrating. I have lost many friends, family, & acquaintances to COVID and other things. At times I felt deep in despair. But I found that it can be a good thing for life to slow down and to spend time with myself. I have also learned to appreciate my family and friends even more and to be thankful for each and every little blessing.

  7. Hootin' Anni says:

    Ohhhh, this one is GOOD!!!

  8. Ann Thompson says:

Love the quote. I think I’ve been ignoring the negatives. Not much developing going on lately

  9. MadSnapper says:

I have in the past turned negatives into beautiful shots, but not in the last few months. I love the photo. as I sat admiring the dog, you know my FOCUS is always Dog, I noticed something that i wonder about here all the time. why girls where coats on top and nothing down bottom. it will be cold here and i see them in short shorts with coats or hoodies on top… sorry lost my FOCUS ha ha

    • Jean says:

My focus is always on the dog too! I hadn’t thought about girls and shorts. I used to wear parkas when it got cold, then I realized my legs got cold so I wear a long down coat now. It’s not fancy looking, but it’s lightweight and keeps me warm.

  10. Myra Guca says:

This is definitely a keeper! I don’t know about ‘developing’ from this year’s negatives — so many things are out of my control. But yes, most times in the past I’ve learned from my mistakes. Every day’s a school day.

    • Jean says:

Have a lifelong-learning attitude helps a lot. We might not have control over external events, but we do have a say in how we react.

    that picture is simply wonderful.
I’m still trying to become more like a Dog.
they have so many attributes I admire. whether in or out of a pandemic!
I have a long way to go. xo
