Smart Pup

Kaitlin said Tempi was lying on the floor when she pulled something off her leg and spit it out. Then she stood up and alternated between looking at it and looking at Kaitlin and Torben. She was right. It was a live tick and Kaitlin and Torben did want to know.

Here’s a picture of Tempi (on the left) and Zoe in their living room looking out the window at a deer.

In spite of the ticks it’s a great place for the pups.

Update: Kaitlin sent this picture of Tempi and her monkey this morning:

Ticks are everywhere. And they sure can cause a lot of problems. I thought Misty had a tick stuck on her side yesterday. Try as I did, it just wouldn’t budge. So off to the vet this morning. Tick? Nope, it was an infected sebaceous cyst that popped up. They drained it, cleaned it, and she got a cookie:)

Wow, this is REALLY smart. I hope she will be alright, and the tick was harmless. A friend just had a tick, and saved it in a plastic bag, just in case.

That’s a good idea. Apparently last year was really bad there because the winter had been so mild. Fingers crossed for this year.

ticks are small but can be scary.
a friend of mine from tourism suffered with the disease caused by a tick’s bite.
    she had a terrible time!
some years are worse than others.

Zoe should chill and take it from Tempi: deer are our friends.

I have friends with gardens who don’t agree with you. 😀

Our local paper often has pictures of deer around town. Once when Andy and drove into our parking lot we had to wait for four or five of them to move out of the way so we could park.

She is a smart pup. That is some window they have to look out.

Looks like Zoe is doing more than just watching that deer and glad Temp warned of the tick.. they are scary little boogers. Tempi looks adorable with monkey.. but then they both look adorable with or without a toy

  9. Myra Guca says:

Fortunately, I’ve not had any up-close encounters with ticks, but they’re not to be taken lightly! Good girl, Tempi!
