I have no idea what she’s trying to say. (or write)

I interpret it as if things go smoothly for someone all the time they get spoiled and take things for granted. But that doesn’t mean that’s what she meant.

  2. Good question. I really don’t know!

  3. Ginny Hartzler says:

I sure do agree!! Without the dark, how would we appreciate the dawn so much? Adversity makes us appreciate when times are good so much more! Being sick makes us really appreciate our good health as well.

  4. Ann Thompson says:

Makes sense to me. It helps keep things in perspective. Without a little bad luck the good wouldn’t feel quite as good

Absolutely a Believer of this quote. the past 6 weeks of surgery/covid variant was so hellish I am now super happy with life… adverstiy puts our life in perspective. this does say bad luck in small doses, any bigger doses we have trouble coming back from.

  6. Rose says:

Yes, I do.think they make us more appreciative of the good things we have.

    Loved that video.

I sure do! Right now we’re in a pretty low place, but I keep expecting to see the sun come out. And won’t it be fine! Cross fingers!

  8. nick says:

Not necessarily. A bit of adversity might render you pessimistic about your life and the future. A run of good luck is surely more likely to make you appreciate the world around you?

  9. Linda Sand says:

“Small doses” is the critical part of that to me. Then, yes. I know that having been poor makes me appreciate our affluence now.

  10. definitely – especially for me now, when my Asthmatic self has taken a nose dive and the things that don’t cause me further grief is “my creativity” and this here “machinery” … kind of interesting that!

  11. Cindi says:

Bad luck in a huge big dose works too
    As in – getting cancer
Suddenly life became so much more precious to me.
