The Gazing Ball

I tried several times yesterday to get a good telephoto shot of the gazing ball. Interestingly enough, the best one was when I couldn’t see the ball without the binoculars.

This is the view of the gazing ball area taken last month with my iPhone. (The ball doesn’t show in the photo but it’s somewhere inside the white circle I’ve added to the left of the fireplace chimney.)

This is the photo of the ball taken with my telephoto lens yesterday:

Zooming in with GraphicConverter you can even see the lines of the basket.

Not too shabby, Nikon!
