Happy 2022!

I was going to retell my favorite New Year’s story today, but the snow is too interesting.

The view from my bedroom window:

The view from our porch:

The entrance to the Dome Road:

The continuation of State Route 4:

Andy drove up to the start of the Dome Road, most of it on the one lane that had been plowed. Needless to say, he turned around and came back. He’ll drive up again tomorrow to see what it looks like then.

Quite a start to the new year! How has the year started for you?

  3. Ginny Hartzler says:

It is gorgeous! The trees are iterally dripping with snow. Even the sky is fantasic.

“… just like the ones I used to know!”
Seeing these brought tears to my (hungry) eyes; thank you so much for sharing them. ?

It would nice if we had some pretty snow like yours. Instead we got freezing rain, followed by sleet, then a dusting of snow, and very bitter cold temps. The dogs love the cold, but they sure would be in heaven with your snow.

That freezing rain and sleet sounds yucky. Fingers crossed for a little bit of snow for you pups, and not too much for the sake of your mom.

  6. those scenes just magic – of course if it happened that my region got this kind of “scene” there wouldn’t be many people out there, and those who were would not be equipped to handle that type of white stuff!

here it’s a bit of a heatwave and I’m indoors with the aircon on which doesn’t reach to all parts of the house but my tiny fan “heater” has a cool cycle so that’s kept the other rooms in use “okay”

your view is spectacular, beautiful photos. yikes on the snow covered road, and I am glad he came back and did not try to get up there even with chains. he predicted he would need the chains and he was right

  9. Rose says:

Well, it did not start with such beauty, that was for sure!

  10. Happy New Year! Such beautiful pictures of the snow.
