Come Home Montana

The other day Andy received another brochure from Come Home Montana urging him to come back.

Andy was raised in Montana and we have fond memories of our yearly visits, but we’re not inclined to move. I think they’re doing the right thing trying to entice remote workers to come, but why are they trying to lure him?

This is the video from their website.

Fingers crossed for them.

that is pretty cool and it is beautiful. Doesn’t make sense they want Andy but they probably just mailed from old tax records with out age groups. or maybe they want retirees to help pay taxes

He gets newsletters from the University of Montana, which clearly knows our address. We’re guessing it’s from that mailing list.

This is an interesting and beautiful ad campaign. I am wondering why they want more people to move there.

    • Jean says:

They want people working remotely to bring their jobs, I think. Another website explicitly says come back home and bring your jobs.

A girl I grew up with lives in Montana. Watching the video, it sure does look appealing to me.

That really is an appealing video. Love some of the scenes.

Wow! That is a Big Brother campaign. Frightening.

  6. my of my favourite bookmakers lives in Montana – so I already new it was called Big Sky country – but it seems harsh and wintery and then forest fires the next big season.

But I guess it’s a place to “hang your hat” and live a life that involves the kind of country themes.

I hope no one asks me to “come home” – okay I did want to go live there a decade or so ago but my brother said “you won’t like it, cold as hell in the winter” – and I thought warm fires and warm blankets I’ll be fine…

Every part of Montana (been there many times) is beautiful. Even crow agency montana. They don’t call it big sky country for nothing!

I agree it’s beautiful, but the winters are harsh. Andy and I took a walk when it was 40 below once. My glasses frosted up so I had to take them off, and as I recall I had icicles on my eyelashes. It was all right because there was no wind, but it could have been dangerous.

I’ve a friend who moved from Montana to Phoenix — practically polar opposites. Unlike me, she loves the hot weather and has no desire to endure another Montana winter.

  9. We just got back from Montana about two weeks ago. Our daughter and son in law live there and it is such a beautiful state. My husband would love to move there but I’m not leaving James!!!
