The Four-Foot Culvert

I mentioned installing the extra four-foot culvert yesterday. We did it in October 2013 and haven’t had trouble with flash flooding in that area since.

There are more pictures here on Flickr.

wow. you don’t realize the scale of it until you see it by the man there.
I’m glad it has helped. it was a huge task but it’s made so much difference!
kudos to you and Andy! xo

We kept having to repair the road and decided we wanted to fix that part for once and for all. Andy does go around checking all of our culverts when it rains to make sure they’re not getting blocked. And we still have to do periodic roadwork. It’s past due but for the past couple of years it has been too dry…working on it would have only stirred up dust.

Glad that worked. Flooding can do so much damage.

  3. Wow, what an undertaking! So the State and/or National Forest Service doesn’t contribute to it’s maintenance?

I looked at all the photos on your site and these are truly excellent photos and could be used on the web site to show what those guys can do. as in use them to advertise their business. each one tells a story. I enjoyed watching them work. the last time they were using the big yellow machines here I snapped from my living room and wondered if they felt like someone was watching them. so glad this made your road better and more safe
