Andy has been working on clearing the defensible space around the buildings. He’s done a lot but still has more to do.

You live quite high up! No worries about flooding for sure.

That looks like a lot of work to keep up with. I bet it’s a never ending job.

Is defensible space, space cleared of anything that could burn?
    Like trees/shrubs/mulch?
    Yikes!
Andy needs to build a moat!

this is really beautiful, I know it is hard work to clear it, but I am loving the looks and I see beautiful ferns. does he have to cutback the ferns also? the good thing about your mountain is it is keeping your hubby healthy. Bob gets so bored and the pool pump has been down for a week and that pool is bob’s mountain. he has to work on it a couple hours a day to keep it working. he is going down hill because the pool is out of order. If the part came in we are supposed to get it installed today while the roofers are taking off the shingles

if i had a bucket list and could travel, your mountain top would be on my list

It’s about an hour drive from town, half of it on rough dirt roads, so it would be an adventure. But it’s nice when you get there. 🙂

Lots of hard labor, but the tranquil world that surrounds your plot of land is worth it I’m sure.

  7. That’s far more brush than I realized!
What’s the elevation up there? Much greater than the townsite?

  8. We have the same thing going on on our property too – Not to the extent that you do, which is why I’ve decided that it’s like the ocean, you don’t want to turn your back on it for too long, and enjoy the view too! ?

    • Jean says:

😀 I agree, you can’t turn your back on it for too long. Andy is behind because we were locked out for about 3 1/2 weeks during the recent fire.
