Apparently people haven’t been having trouble using the new bear proof dumpsters. No one is leaving their garbage outside of it or leaving the doors open. Andy and I use two hands to lift the lid to where it stays open, then we pick up the garbage and toss it in.
We had to laugh this afternoon when Andy saw a fellow lift the lid with one hand while he tossed the garbage in with the other. Nope, that’s not going to happen here. 🙂

I doubt I could open that at all. I’m short and weak.
I have more trouble than Andy because I’m short. That makes a huge difference.
It does look kind of hard for us seniors.
It’s a challenge.
I don’t know how high that is, but if it’s too high I would have a hard time lifting the garbage into it.
It’s a little over 4 feet. I have more problem with lifting the heavy lid.
Tell me that’s not a dusting of snow on the ground!
No, it’s just concrete. 🙂
I had scroll back up with mention of snow on the ground!
I’d be finding a strong young person to assist me with the dumpster…
At first we thought we would need one too!
We’ve seen the bear-proof dumpsters and trash receptacles in a lot of different places.
We came across one in Idaho quite a while back where someone obviously got more than just a little frustrated – and irate – when they were unable to open the lid.

That’s cute, but it would be a lot easier to open than ours is. I can do it, but it’s awkward because I’m short and the lid is so high.
I am glad you can get it open and up, it would be tough for us to do also. the video was great. life is PHUN LOL
Yes! 😀
Does the apartment complex have a maintenance person onsite who’d be willing to help? This almost looks like a broken hand waiting to happen.
I don’t know if they would help or not. We’re hoping we won’t have to ask.
