Bringing Joy

What a joy it is in life when you happen to have a clean, warm kitchen.
-–Olga Tokarczuk

What brings you joy? For me its family and friends, of course, including you in blogland. And I love learning new things so on the list are exploring the internet, writing my daily post, and spending a few minutes a day playing with drawing and my glockenspiel. I also spend over an hour a day exercising while I stream entertaining videos…exercise is as essential for my mental as for my physical health.

I have so many more toys now than I did when I was a kid, and I don’t take them for granted.

funny but yesterday I walked in my bathroom, and thought I love this tiny little bathroom, it makes me feel happy. I do not feel joy in bob’s bathroom. when I round the corner from the hall and see my big living room/kitchen area i always think I love it and it brings me joy. there new things needed, but I love it anway. the computer like you, brings me joy.. and the first thing i should have listed would be my beautiful Beau

I don’t think that’s funny at all. I think we’re blessed when we feel that way. And you didn’t have to mention Beau. We all know that! 🙂

And I think that the older we get, the more we need these “toys”!

  3. I love the Internet and am really grumpy when I’ve no connection at home, but that’s not happened for a while – other than 2 nights when there was a power outage, one night it was dark and the next night still daylight.

It’s coming up 6 years I’ve living in this unit and although some things annoy me, somehow it still seems like home. A home where I’m rarely disturbed by people and that means it doesn’t matter what I do in here. But I do keep it relatively clean, it’s easy to keep clean as it’s not big…

And then there’s a certain kind of freedom, particularly since I’m retired and do whatever I like, when I like…

When I stop and think about it, there are a lot of things that bring me joy. Spending time with my daughter, doing my crafts, blogging, a clean house. I suppose I could come up with more if I think about it.

Right now, if Roger feels good, it brings me joy. So thankful to.have the internet during these trying times.

  6. What a delightful poser!
Off the top of my head — my ‘lady girls’ (Macie and Grace) ….. opening my computer to see glimpses into my friends’ lives (aka blogs) ….. hearing a favorite forgotten old song on the grocer’s audio system ….. the aroma of coffee calling my name ….. sleeping ALL night (pipe dream). And finally, like Sandra said, looking around my little worn home and realizing there’s no place I’d rather be.

  7. That is so awesome about the time you spend exercising. You go girl!

Family, friends and blogging. It sounds wonderful to me! And of course, exercising—that goes without saying!
