Ian and Sandra

Like a lot of people, I’ve been watching the progress of hurricane Ian. Here are two satellite photos taken yesterday afternoon:

And this one was taken last night:

I received an email from Sandra this morning…they are safe. As of 3:00 AM it was still a little windy and rainy. Her cell phone isn’t working very well so she won’t be communicating for a few days. They have no cable or internet. “Part of tree down in backyard part of fence down and backyard whole yard wrecked and worst of all the wind wrecked the garage door it’s all bent and hanging and we can’t get either of our cars out.”

Thank you for letting us know, Sandra. We’re so sorry this has happened and wish there was something we could do right now.

Thanks for this little update Jean. I was wondering how Sandra and Bob were coping. Thankfully not too badly considering the fate of many others.

    • Jean says:

They were lucky that Ian didn’t land where it was expected to, it went about 75 miles to the south. But notice Ian was big enough to cover most of the state.

Thanks for the update, I had wondered how Sandra and Bob were.

Things can be fixed, maybe not tomorrow, and neither are physically hurt.

  3. Ann Thompson says:

I got the text from her as well. I was glad to hear that her and Bob were both safe. Hopefully they will be back up and running soon and they’ll be able to get their vehicles out of the garage.

I just read the Sandra News on ‘C’s’ blog. It’s such a relief they are okay.

  5. I, too, was so relieved to hear from Sandra yesterday. Awful news about the garage door, but like my momma used to say, things might have been much worse.
It’s heartwarming to hear of all the helpers coming out to lend a hand.

  6. Yes, I email also with Sandra and I’m thankful they are safe. When I see the photo from Florida my heart just aches looking at all the damage.
