Still Thinking of Sandra and Bob

I hope they get their power restored soon, but I’m glad they avoided the almost direct hit that had been predicted. Lee and Charlotte counties had their infrastructure completely destroyed. It’s grim news.

On a cheerier note, here’s a video of another deer rescue:

It especially warmed my heart when the pup mimicked the deer hopping. He was willing to do it for the sake of playing.

We’re in Williamsburg, VA getting lots of rain and some wind. The main circulation is going to go west of us. Our plans for next week at Myrtle Beach and Charleston may have to change depending on storm damage. We’re visiting Karen’s sister, Vickie, here and will be visiting one of their brothers, Bob, and his wife in Myrtle Beach. We’re hoping their new house that they are supposed to moving into wasn’t damaged.

  2. tongue in cheek – glad to see the title doesn’t have Sandra with Ian today – rather she’s back with Bob 🙂

but also good to hear, no news of the bad sort coming to us from Sandra’s place/home…

some internet friends of mine with a youngish family, moved to an idyllic place they dreamed of for years somewhere in the states. And a few months ago a huge storm destroyed their forested backyard and the view point they had of some waterway. Huge trees uprooted, the pictures looked a bomb had landed – house slightly damaged – but their dream backyard destroyed. Costs escalated but now I believe everything removed and they are back to blank canvas….

hurricanes that are named cyclones in this part of world have at times done some major damage – in localised places, but also our earthquakes…

I love your joke! In this area it’s wildfires that destroy things, of course. Andy works hard keeping our defensible space clear up there because if we get wiped out again we won’t rebuild.

It was a relief to finally hear from Sandra and know they are now safe.
    Loved the video.

  4. Oh, that video … my heart!
