A Cold Spell

We’re having a cold spell for a while. This was yesterday’s temperature forecast for the land (in Fahrenheit):

The 35°F high for yesterday was close, Andy said it was 34°F. But also notice how much sun is predicted. The temperature inside the house when he arrived in the morning was 74° yesterday, 73° today. As long as the sun comes out Andy’s solar heating panels store heat in the floor and we actually have to open the windows a bit to keep it from getting too warm.

Fun stuff! We do know how to amuse ourselves. 🙂

In Ithaca, NY this is just about when winter started. The temperatures would drop and we would have only about six days of sunshine in the next six months. Here we can expect warmer temperatures to come back for a while, as well as having a lot of sunny days throughout the winter. As usual, we will keep you posted.

  1. our nice warm and sunny weather has gone off for a short holiday somewhere – it’s not exactly cold but there’s that late winter chill and the sky isn’t blue.

  2. Great illustrations! Yours is a great reminder to be present in the now.

  3. brrrrr but am glad to hear you get more sunshine where you are than in NY. sunshine is my friend and why I love Florida. I get depressed if it is cloudy and dark

I need lots of sunshine! I cannot deal with day after day of dark, dreary weather. But every now and then we have a year where I have to.

Glad to hear the solar panels work so well. I hate being cold so this is not a good time of year for me.
