Compassion and Curiosity

The greatest antidote to insecurity and a sense of fear is compassion. It brings one back to the basis of oneโ€™s inner strength.
โ€” Dalai Lama

There’s a lot of truth in that, but for me curiosity has to be there too.

Stay curious and open to life. No matter what happens keep learning and growing. Find what you love and find a way to share it with others.

That’s my North Star. What’s yours?

Hmm, interesting. I don’t know about the compassion one but I can relate to the curiosity.

I have a huge part of my heart with compassion and an even bigger helping of curiostity. That said, I am very insecure, always have been and fear has followed me all my life. I don’t see the connection of compassion and curiosity helping my fear

I agree it takes more than that. It takes commitment and practice, but there’s plenty of information about things to try.

Kindness. But I do have a huge curiosity and think that intellectual curiosity is a sign of intelligence.

  4. Like Sandra, I’m struggling to comprehend how compassion negates fear. Because I’m innately curious, I use information to deal with my fears. More so, prayer.

I agree with Ginny that kindness is a better word. It implies specific things you can do to make the world a better place and that’s empowering. You don’t feel so helpless.
