A Loving Farewell

One of my longest blogging friends passed away yesterday, and his son wrote this final post.

Regrets, Dad is no more

Hello all,

Regret to inform you all that Dad passed away peacefully in his sleep yesterday afternoon – 21st April, 2023, at around 3.45 pm. Just around noon we were sharing a laugh as he didn’t want to eat breakfast/lunch and kept saying “tomorrow”. So I laughed and asked if it was his exit strategy. We fed him a liquid lunch and then he seemed to settle down, with very regular breathing.

Do remember him fondly and smile. He was not one for grieving or sadness, lived life to the full. If you’re a drinker, have a couple of drinks in his name, if you’re not, toast him with tea/coffee/whatever ? Hugs all around. Peace be with you.

I do remember Ramana/Rummuser fondly, with a warm heart and a smile. When my time is up I hope I’m remembered that way too. Thank you, Ranjan.

  1. Yes it was a fitting farewell, simple and to the point. May he rest in peace and his family move gracefully through this time. Especially as Ramana had so many friends, colleagues and beyond, many of whom are probably not via this digital world.

A sad but sweet farewell. That was nice of his son to do the post to let everyone know about his dad. I told my daughter once that if anything ever happens to me she needs to log into my blog and let my readers know.

Perfect tribute to his dad, and so good of him to let his e-friends know of his passing. over the years I have lost 5 blogger friends to death, 3 advised us, the others we accidently found they had passed. there will be no one to advise you if I do, so if i disapear with no posting you will no

That’s sad. Could you arrange with a friend to do it? Have your family tell the friend to post a farewell? You have a lot of blogger friends who love you.

  4. What Sandra just said! “R” sounds like a lovely man; the sort who leaves footprints on our hearts.

Yes, Ramana was special. I’ll never forget Ramana.

  7. Linda Sand says:

One of my favorite things about Ramana is that he called his son’s wife his daughter-in-love. He was a good man.

  8. My heart goes out to you and their family. Big huggs.

  9. Terra says:

Ramana was a great man, I can tell from reading his blog posts over the years. I have been worried about him and now I know why. He will be missed. Terra

I also followed Ramana’s blog, however I came in late and not in 2008 when he started writing. However, now I am reading all his posts from 2008 on. It’s a tribute to him who was always so kind to me whenever I’d make a comment on his post. What a lovely person!
