Pickle Jar Update

When I wrote about the problem I had opening a pickle jar, Ginny wrote,

…There are these little plastic things that you just stick the edge under the top and POP it. Only for glass jars. Then it twists off really easily. I think they are under five dollars, I have two.

And she gave this link.

I bought two, but I didn’t need them right now because I had four jars of another brand, with lids that opened easily. Still, I couldn’t wait. So I bought a jar of the first brand of pickles to try out the new gadget. The jar would have been hard to open, but the new device worked easily. This video was no lie.

Life is full of fun adventures.

Thanks, Ginny!

That is a neat little gadget. I have a couple things that make opening jars and bottles with twist top lids easier. It’s not as easy opening things as it used to be.

wow, that video shows how easy it is and I too would have had to buy a jar to try it if i had one… we all know where to go if we want a pickle HA HA.. i sense there will be a lot of pickle eating goin on at your house…. I love pickles, sweet or dill, just about any kind of pickle there is.. I don’t open pickles very much, but i do open jars of other things. and most of them are hard to open. I am trying to remember what was in the jar last week that bob could not open, he is my jar opener. it will not come up in my 8 ball brain.

Wow, I am so happy that you bought them!! I think they are really a miracle, yet almost no one seems to know about them. Maybe your post will help spread the news!!

I use an old manual can opener that has a beer bottle gadget within the handles – for those kinds of pesky jars. Beer bottles are now mostly “twist off” – not that I’ve bought any beers for a few years!
