They Were Too Optimistic

Accuweather.com

The were too optimistic about yesterday’s low. It was 11° on the porch yesterday morning. But the high was right, slightly less than freezing.

I love dogs, but I’m glad I don’t have one that I have to walk every day.

  1. fairly hot here – most early nights it’s still on the high temp – I’ve now bought a trendy tower fan as there is no aircon here! I so miss my aircon…
but seeing I’m not having to see a power bill, I’ve been running most of the day, tonight I’m going to see how well I can cope overnight on “night mode” with a lower noise…and the LED panel is on dark mode…

I hope that works for you.. We have air conditioning in our living room during the summer, and we would miss it if it went away. In the bedrooms at night we open the windows and use fans. As I’ve said before, summer is my least favorite season, so I usually immerse myself in some project so the time goes zipping by.

  2. It’s been plenty cold here and there is colder temps coming next week.

just like the US mail, neither rain, nor sleet, hail or snow keeps me from walking the dog. ha ha but I do live in Florida so no hail or snow or sleet and very little rain… not sure i would be out there walking in the other stuff. to dangerous for this old girl

  4. My daughter is in Great Falls, MT where it’s been -35! She has a very tiny dog who thankfully goes quickly outside. That’s a cute joke.

    • Jean says:

I went for a hike in Missoula, MT years ago when it was -40. Needless to say, there was no wind. I wouldn’t do it now. 🙂

  5. That’s the only good thing about not having a dog.

    Brrrr!
Our girls are such whuss(es) … there are times I have to practically carry them out of doors. How I wish they could be taught to use a litter box.

  7. Linda Sand says:

I figure if I ever get a dog, it will be a tiny breed taught to use a puppy pad. 🙂

  8. Ginny Hartzler says:

The same for us! I am so glad we don’t have to go out with a dog in all kinds of weather! Those who do are really devoted!

  9. The OP Pack says:

We haven’t had a walk in over a week with all the snow, ice, and bitter cold. Mom says it will probably be at least another week before it is safe for her old bones to walk on those sidewalks. Thank goodness we have a nice, big fenced yard.

    • Jean says:

A big yard makes a huge difference. Your mom is wise to be careful. It’s good to hear from you… I hope 2024 goes a lot better for you than 2023.

Beautiful sunny day in the mid 50’s here today.

  11. Ann Thompson says:

I don’t know what our temperature was here yesterday but I know it’s been higher than what it feels like. It’s been really windy and it feels like it could slice right through you.
