We’re Not Quite Done Yet

As I said, the Jeep registration came last week. It was registered to me but that’s no problem. All of our cars say they are registered to just one of us… there’s room for only one signature on the form.

The title is a different matter. That came Monday and it was made out just to me. We assumed Lithia Motors had messed up again so I tried phoning the Motor Vehicle Department Tuesday to see how to get it corrected. But when I phoned, twice, I didn’t get through to the department. I was offered a free medical alert device, just press 1 if I was under 50, 2 if I was over 50. I pressed 0 and was cut off. I did it twice to make sure I had phoned the number correctly.

I tried again yesterday afternoon and the number worked fine then. I was put on hold but was offered the chance to have them phone me back instead of waiting, which was nice. And they phoned back relatively quickly. It turns out the MVD made the mistake, not Lithia Motors. The woman checked and saw that the correct paperwork had been given to them, she would have a correct title sent to us.

That was a pleasant surprise! I will let you know when it comes. She said they would also send out a new registration card with Andy’s name on it. I will let you know when/if that happens. 🙂

Less pleasant was our trip to Santa Fe to get Andy’s eyes treated. I’ll write about that tomorrow. We’re still in good spirits about everything, which is worth a lot.

  1. Usually vehicle registration is for the main user, I guess that’s Andy…

they eye appointment doesn’t sound great – but then I’m becoming an expert myself with health issues, that I didn’t know I had!

What a production this has turned into to get the registration and title. I hope the new ones are correct.

oh my word, all this time and trouble for what should be a simple thing to do. seems it is par for the course now days.. I am sorry to hear about Andy’s eyes and my memory must be bad because I don’t think I knew about an eye problem..

  4. How nice they are fixing the boo boo and you don’t have to go there. All they best on the Eye field trip.

  5. Ginny Hartzler says:

I’m glad it ended so well. It can be so hard to get an actual person to talk to! I can’t wait to hear about the eye appointment. Mine awhile ago had a bad surprise…macular degeneration. Ugh. I hope his went better.

Thank goodness for perseverance — and finding someone who took ownership!
Fingers crossed for Andy’s eye situation.
