I never thought about the amazon logo very much, but I interpreted the arrow as a friendly, dynamic smile. In fact, it was designed to send the message that the company was friendly, trustworthy, and fast. The part I didn’t notice is that the arrow goes from the a to the z, because the logo was designed when the company expanded from selling just books to almost everything the customers might want.
My hat goes off to the designers of the logo. It’s simple and has the impact they wanted.

It took me awhile to figure that out too.
The a to z would never have occurred to me if they didn’t tell me.
It is a clever logo.
It really works.
It’s a great logo and I never noticed the a to z connection to their expanded line of products. I have seen the arrow used as lips on a smile with eyes added but I don’t remember where. It was a long time ago.
All they need now is the the arrow on boxes — we immediately know where it’s from. They have us well trained. 😀
