I wonder how I got on their mailing list?
June 16, 2021
We are always getting info-mail from the local cemeteries and wonder the same thing:)
Actually I get some of them too. We laugh.
Lord love a duck!!! Your mail is like a box of chocolates…you never know what you’re gonna get. Sorry, I could resist a bit of Forest Gumpisms.
could=couldn’t
π
Oh nooooo!
My former husband and I signed up with them in the 70’s; I hope our files have been lost at sea. (*grin*)
π We may consider it since you and other people have heard of it and signed up. Thanks for telling us.
We signed up with them many years ago. Still haven’t used their services, though.
π We’ll look into it, even though the card didn’t create a first good impression.
Oh my GOSH!! How RUDE of them, and how depressing. And here I thought it was bad that we get so many aids for hearing aids in the mail!
As I was opening this one I laughed and told Andy it was probably for a hearing aid. π
I wonder how we get on some of these mailing lists. I don’t ever get anything like that, but now having said it, I probably will. I do get lots of offers from AARP though! ?
I’m the AARP member here, not Andy, and I do get more mail like this than he does. Who knows if that’s the reason?
I haven’t gotten anything like that but I get a lot of life insurance offers in Wades name. I look at them, say too late and pitch them …lol
π
we have had several like this. they just purchase mailing lists and send them out.. business must be dead. bra ha ha I said to Bob when we got the last one can you believe they are advertising funeral arrangements? we get them for cemetery lots, cremation and the PRE burial arrangements, buy now die later. ha ha
π
“you mail is like a box of chocolates” gotta love that saying thanks Forest Gump…
oops my “spelling” just went into that box of empty wrappers…the ones Forest was putting in the garbage!
I get letters from them all the time and have for several years. They must research public records for “old people” and set up mailing lists. Am also getting mailings from retirement communities. Some of them are from surrounding local cities but have been really surprised to receive a couple from communities in states on the opposite Atlantic coast and I live in California. Do they really think I’d move from a warm climate to snowy icy cold one?
I also get requests from some of my charities to remember them in my will. π
I get βpop-upsβ ads on my Facebook account for things like that.
Recently I got one about being cremated and then they would take my ashes and they would be scattered along a beautiful wooded area beside a river.
I clicked on it to see the location and laughed to myself. Where I live thereβs a river on either side of the city and we have a state park along side of one of them.
So I actually I have no need for that cremation company instead I could just have one of my nieces drive three minutes from my house and toss me around.
That sounds a lot easier. π
Funeral homes and anything related to checking out or getting sick at the end of life comes in the mail thanks to how easy it is for them to rent mailing lists by age brackets.
