Mixed Feelings About Roombas

I love my Roomba, but apparently some dogs don’t:

Cats are another matter:

Mom keeps thinking about getting one of those critters, but she thinks it would get tired very quickly with all the furballs we leave everywhere:)

I don’t think my cats would be that laid back about one. Bubbie possible but probably not.

  3. one of my family members has one, and she swears it’s made a huge difference to some of her respiratory issues – as it’s both easy to use and you can “plug and forget” so it’s easy to have it run every day … I’d have one if I could truly get all my art supplies on the shelves…so much of them end up on the floor – and of course this house foot print is small, I’d have to be looking I don’t go for a slide on it…

interesting how differently the dogs reacted to it and the cats didn’t particularly care about it!
I fun my Bissell almost like it. not a vacuum but amazing how much dust and fluff it picks up. I used to fun it every day. not I’m down to every other day. 🙂

LOL. yes. I ‘fun’ my Bissell carpet sweeper. I also run it. 😀 and I just now notice that I said FUN twice!!! must have been thinking of those kitties. it did look kind of fun. LOL

😀 Whatever that’s easy to use is a winner.

Gibbs barks when I turn on the vacuum so I think he would be like the dogs barking in the video. The cat cracked me up

  6. MadSnapper says:

i have seen them on TV but never even thought about getting one. I rather do it myself I think. but it looks like the cat is happy and the dog is tariffed… I think most cats and dogs would be afraid of it.

What a fun post today! I love how differently cats and dogs react to Roombas. I especially like how one person seemed to have made a custom cat cushion to fit the top of the Roomba. I was all set to buy one when I saw a post about how they spread dog vomit around a house and ended up killing the vacuum in the process. The company did replace it though. Levi vomits too often for me to chance it.

Interesting reactions — guess it depends on the pet. One family member’s dog just sniffed at theirs a bit, then simply stayed out of the way. Another family member’s cat pretty much just ignored their Roomba. We were disappointed, expecting more excited behaviors. Both families have liked using their Roombas on uncarpeted floors.

I wouldn’t have been surprised by those reactions. The nice thing about Roombas is they aren’t nearly as noisy as vacuum cleaners.
