As Long as It’s Moisture

So why would we welcome snow? It doesn’t matter if it’s snow, rain, sleet, hail…as long as it’s moisture.

We’re in the area with exceptional drought, and the weather report Sunday was,

As usual, fingers crossed.

We just had a huge downpour with some small hail. I hope things will green up here now. Minnesota is trying hard for it to be spring here. I wish you could have that downpour as well. It didn’t last long, though, so it might not have had time to soak in.

Our last snows weren’t enough to do much good, but we appreciate anything we can get. It is what it is, no sense worrying about it.

  2. oh nooooooooooooo not the dreaded fire watch! Nope you don’t need it…:-(

  3. Ginny Hartzler says:

OH! We are very dry too, and have burn control.

  4. I’ve always hated to admit it but we do need the snowfall each year

  5. Myra Guca says:

Just reading ‘fire watch’ gives me a chill. Fingers crossed!

    • Jean says:

I don’t think we’re in much danger yet, since all the big trees burned, but it is a warning to keep the vegetation down.

  6. Hootin' Anni says:

We too are in severe drought.

  7. The OP Pack says:

It’s been very dry here too. We had a ton of rain a couple of weeks ago, but everything seems to have dried again. With the Kansas winds, fire is a concern too. We have storms coming in tonight through Thursday so that should help. We hope you get some moisture too.

  8. Rose says:

I hope you and Anni get more moisture…of some sort!

  9. MadSnapper says:

I am with Myra, fire watch is even scarier than tornado and hurricane watch. we can survive wind and water, but surviving Fire is hard to do.. they are all bad, but Fire is just way to scary. hope you get what you need. we are praying for rain here and have for about 4 years

    • Jean says:

Mostly with fire we have warnings. We’ve had to evacuate from here in town twice…in 2000 and 2011. I’d rather have wildfire than tornadoes.

  10. I agree. In California we need all the moisture we can get!
